UNILAG students have built first 'electric car' in Africa (photos, video)

A group of Nigerian students came together to create Africa’s first electric car from scratch, using locally sourced materials. Olukoya Olusanya and Maduka Smart pioneered the project, and enlisted other students to help. However, during an interview they revealed that ‘DOVE’ is an acronym for Designed for Zero Vehicle Emission. The electric car was made of a fibre glass body which weighs about 200kg and is capable of speeds of up to 35 km/h

A 29-year-old housewife identified as, Onyinyechi Akunne, has been arrested after she allegedly stabbed her husband, 35-year-old Abuchi Akunne to death.
