A Thai navy diver working as part of the rescue team to rescue 12 Thai soccer players and their football coach trapped in a flooded cave (read here ) has died from a lack of oxygen. Samarn Kunan, a former Thai SEAL, was working in a volunteer capacity and died during an overnight mission in which he was placing oxygen canisters. Thai SEAL commander Arpakorn Yookongkaew said while underwater, the rescuer passed out and efforts to resuscitate the 38-year-old failed. Samarn's body has been sent to Suvarnabhumi airport in Bangkok and will be flown to his hometown in Roi Et for a royally-sponsored funeral, the Thai king announced. French President, Emmanuel Macron was in Nigeria yesterday to witness the signing of new deal with the country at the state house Abuja before he made his way to the New Afrika Shrine in Lagos. During his speech, the French President said he never expected to return to Nigeria under these circumstances almost 17 years after his first stay in the country. Today, the Supreme Court upheld the appeal of Bukola Saraki and discharged him of the remaining three charges against him in the case of false declaration of assets. The court upheld the appeal in a lead judgment delivered by Justice Centus Nweze in Abuja and Senator Dino Melaye shared the photo above in celebration with the caption, 'congratulations my man, brother,oga and friend. Paris Saint-Germain has confirmed the signing of veteran Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon on a free transfer following his exit from Juventus . Omojola Ogundipe, a 20-year-old Bristol University student took her own life in a Cardiff hotel room, just days after a visit home for Mother’s Day. Staff at the Citrus Hotel in Cardiff found her body hanging in her hotel room after she missed her check-out deadline. Late Omojola, described as "bright and bubbly", was in the second year of her economics undergraduate degree at Bristol University, and was a leading member of the Gospel Choir Society. A campaigner on environmental and human rights issues, she volunteered with several groups and was popular among her peers. An inquest into her death heard her dad tell Pontypridd Coroner’s Court his daughter had visited home just three days before they heard the tragic news. During the court hearing on July 5, her dad, Kurle Ogundipe, said in a statement: "I last saw Omojola on March 11 when she returned home for the weekend. She appeared her usual bubbly self." Olisa Metuh, a former spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, took to the dock on July 6, 2018 as he continued with his defence in the ongoing N400 million fraud trial before Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja. At the proceeding, Metuh attempted to enter the dock in preparation to being led in evidence by his counsel, Onyeachi Ikpeazu, SAN,  but was stopped by the judge, who ordered him to testify from where he was seated in the courtroom.
