PDP chieftain Bode George, has lost his son, Dipo. The 42-year-old died in the early hours of today May 8th after a long battle with an undisclosed ailment. He died at a hospital in Ikoyi, Lagos state. Dipo was born by the politician's first wife, Feyi. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

The Nigeria Police Force says it will be challenging the Senate's declaration of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris as an enemy of democracy who is unfit to occupy any office in Nigeria and outside Nigeria. The police chief has been invited thrice to the senate and on the three occassions, he sent a representative who was always rejected by the senate. The Commissioner of Police (Legal), Force Headquarters, David Igbodo, while appearing on Channels Television today, said the police will be challenging the decision of the senate. “That declaration, we are going to challenge it in court. We want the court to interpret whether each time the IGP is invited to appear before the National Assembly (NASS), whether he must, as a matter of fact, appear in person.”he said

Letitia Chai, 18, livestreamed her strip protest on Facebook. The Inspector General of Police has reacted to the resolution of the senate to declare him an enemy of democracy unfit to occupy any public office in Nigeria or outside the country. The senate tagged the police chief an enemy after he failed to appear before the house for the third time. He was expected to address the house on the controversy surrounding Dino Melaye's arrest as well as the killings happening in some parts of the country. After he failed to honor the invitation for the third time yesterday, the senate in an executive session, resolved to tag him an enemy of democacry. Responding to their resolution, the police chief in a statement signed by the force spokseperson, Jimoh Moshood, said the senate's resolution is a deliberate blackmail. Tekno has reconciled with veteran music duo, Mad Melon and Mountain Black aka Danfo Drivers - after the latter accused him of sampling  their 2008 song 'Kpolongo' for his latest single 'Jogodo'. The veterans had accused Tekno of sampling their song without consent. Music executive Ubi Franklin reacted to the drama on Instagram, claiming the veterans were indeed reached out to but it was one story or the other. A $150,000 diamond chain that belongs to Cardi B's fiancé, rapper Offset was stolen from his hotel room in NYC after the MET Gala. Read TMZ's report below. Offset's neck is a little lighter today and he ain't happy about it. According to law enforcement sources, the chain was stolen sometime Tuesday evening from Offset's room at a lower East side hotel. The jewelry was last seen on a coffee table in the room. No arrests have been made yet and the Police are checking surveillance cameras at the hotel to see if they can spot the suspect. Offset didn't noticve it was missing until he flew out to Atlanta hours later.

The Lagos state police command has given an update on the case involving 47-year-old lawyer, Udeme Odibi, who murdered her 50-year-old husband, Mr Otike Odibi, last Wednesday, in their apartment at 12A, Emerald Avenue, Diamond Estate, Sango-Tedo, in Ogombo, Ajah area of Lagos State. Udeme and her husband met while she was working in his law firm and according to close firneds, has always been very jealous and never wanted any lady close to him. The suspect got married to the deceased after he divorced his first wife whom he has a daughter with. The couple began fighting after Odibi maintained that some of his properties must go to his daughter in his will, a position Udeme who is yet to have a child with him was strongly against. President Donald Trump has just announced the date and place of his meeting with North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un. "The highly anticipated meeting between Kim Jong Un and myself will take place in Singapore on June 12th. We will both try to make it a very special moment for World Peace!"  Trump tweeted. The summit, which has been in the works since Trump accepted Kim's invitation to meet in March, will be the first ever meeting between a sitting US president and North Korean leader.
