A Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination candidate, Cletus Kokowa, who reportedly hired a syndicate to upgrade his scores from 162 to 206, has been arrested by Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps operatives.  The candidate from Bayelsa State with Registration Number 95329290ED, was arrested at the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board headquarters in Bwari, Abuja, after he paid N10,000 to the syndicate group he contacted via Whatsapp.   Kokowa arrived JAMB headquarters with his uncle who is an army officer, after his father, Garen, wrote a letter of complaint to the board asking for the rectification of his son’s scores.  The UTME candidate who said he was convinced there was an error after checking the exam body's portal and seeing that his score remained at 162, confessed on Thursday to have employed a syndicate.Punch reported that Kokowa who admitted knowing that upgrading scores was an offence, said he...

Ese Walter has shut down reports on social media that she was raped by the Senior Pastor of COZA, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo. Ese in 2013 accused Fatoyinbo of trying to manipulate her into having a sexual affair with him while she was a member of his church. In the wake of Busola Dakolo's claim of Fatoyinbo raping her when she was 17, many Nigerians on social media suggested that Ese was also raped by Fatoyinbo. The Nigeria Police Force has reacted to a viral photo of embattled Senator Elisha Abbo purportedly having a conversation with the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu. Abbo. Some Nigerians dug the photo out and released it online even as the senator is currently being investigated for assaulting a nursing mother in an Abuja sex toy. Two persons have been confirmed dead and over 30 vehicles burnt in the pipeline explosion that rocked the Ijegun community in Lagos state in the early hours of today July 4th. Confirming the number of casualties, the Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Femi Oke-Osanyetolu, said suspected vandals destroyed one of the NNPC pipelines in the surburb and were siphoning Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) into a 33,000 litre capacity tanker when they were intercepted by security operatives. “While trying to escape from the security agencies, some of the siphoned fuel spilled into the drainage and the vandals were alleged to have set the spilled fuel on fire in a bid to deter the security agencies from apprehending them.  The fire then spread back to the pipeline, the point where the vandals had siphoned the fuel and exploded with escalating fire which led to two fatalities and over 30 vehicles burnt. The actual loss will ...
