''I won’t quit PDP even if I fail to secure the presidential ticket''- Atiku says

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar yesterday said he would not quit the People’s Democratic Party even if he failed to secure its presidential ticket during the party presidential primary on October 6th.  Speaking to newsmen after a meeting with party members in Niger state, Atiku who defected from APC to PDP last December, said “Whether I become the presidential candidate or not, I want to assure you that I will always discharge my obligations to ensure the  success of  the polls. I shall remaine in the party even if I lost. I am ever ready to work towards the success of the party if level playing ground is provided during the party primaries like I did in 2015”. 

EFCC raids car dealers for non compliance with the provisions of money laundering act

The Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering (SCUML) of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Gombe Zonal office on August 30, 2018 raided two car dealers for non compliance with the provisions of Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011 (as amended) and the regulations of Designated Non- Financial Institution (Regulatory Manual) 2013 that regulates the activities of DNFIs. The companies are HAMABB MOTORS NIG. LTD along Atiku Abubakar road, Jimeta Yola, Adamawa state and Halal Synergy Limited along Galadima Aminu Way, Jimeta. They belong to the duo of Abba Galadima and Mansur Abdurahman respectively. They were arrested in tje course of the operation. UEFA release full list of top ten players for 2017-18 season after Luka Modric’s victory… and Lionel Messi is ranked just fifth in Europe

UEFA has released the full list of the top ten players for the 2017-18 season who were on the list for the Men's Player of the Year award. On Thursday,   Real Madrid   midfielder   Luka Modric   won the award after helping Real Madrid to their third successive European Cup against   Liverpool   in May, including guarding his country  Croatia   to the final tournament of 2018 World Cup in   Russia , which saw them came second. The Croatian won the award with 313 points, comfortably seeing of   Cristiano Ronaldo   and   Mohamed Salah   who earned 223 and 134 respectively. Standards Organisation of Nigeria issues warning on cancer-causing substance in school uniforms that are made in China

The Standards Organisation of Nigeria, has warned importers of school uniform materials into Nigeria about some cancer-causing substances found in some school uniform materials made by two China based companies. A statement issued by the Director-General of SON, Mr Osita Aboloma on Friday in Abuja, named the companies producing the materials as Sing Shun Fat School-Clothier Company and Zenith Uniform Company. Aboloma said that the azo dyes found in some school uniforms in Hong Kong contained up to 173 milligrams and 41 milligrams per kilogram of the tested samples respectively. He added that the amounts of the dye contained in the materials were well above the maximum allowed in the standard.   “Use of the 4-amino azo dyes have been banned in Europe, Japan and other parts of the world prior to the finding. Photos of the APC politicians that died in auto crash in Saudi Arabia

Three APC local government chairmen, from Zamfara state, Nigeria, have died in an auto crash in Saudi Arabia. Alh. Jafarau Gidan Sambo of Kaura Namoda LGA, Alh. Mudi Mallamawa of Shinkafi LGA, and Alh. Abdullahi Shugaba Ruwan Dorowa of Maru LGA were travelling with other pilgrims from Makkah to Madina when the bus they were in was involved in an accident at about 3a.m. today.  Three of the passengers survived while the three named above died. Their remains are with Saudi Authorities for Funeral arrangement after all the necessary documentation.

Man finds love potion in his girlfriend's bag together with a list of all her lovers

A Zimbabwean man claims he found love potion in his 19-year-old girlfriend's bag, as well as a list with the names of men on it. The girl reportedly forgot her bag in her boyfriend's car and when he looked through the bag, he was shocked to find a bottle of concoction, which he believes is a love potion, and a list with the names of men, which the boyfriend believes are names of men she plans to use the potion on. iHarare reports that the man shared his findings on social media, together with a photo of his girlfriend.

You won't believe what a Gala seller did when he saw prisoners in a van stuck in Lagos traffic

A Gala seller moved people to tears by his actions when he spotted a group of prisoners in a van stuck in traffic. The prisoners were being transported in a Nigeria Prison Force van heading to Ikoyi Prison but were stuck in traffic. As usual, the prisoners stretched out their hands through the tiny holes by the sides of the van and the Gala seller's next action surprised everyone. He took the Gala he was selling and began distributing to the prisoners for free. When the van began moving, he dropped his basket by the side of the road, grabbed a handful of Gala and ran after them to make sure everyone gets a share. A subsidiary of Nosak Group, Nosak Farm Produce Limited was recently presented a Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) product quality certificate by the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) for its Nosak Famili Vegetable Oil. Mother-of-five killed in car crash after her boyfriend cut her brake lines to make crack pipe.

A  38-year-old mother-of-five died in a car crash caused by faulty brakes and police have now revealed that the woman's brake lines was cut by her boyfriend to make metal pipes for smoking his cocaine. Tammy A Fox was driving her black Hyundai Sonata one morning last week when "her vehicle began to accelerate," police explained in a news release. The vehicle appeared to be going 50 to 60 miles per hour, a witness said. Then, the car lost control and "violently struck a tree," according to police. Fox was killed by the crash. Pennsylvania State Police say her boyfriend John William Jenkins Jr., 39, cut the brake lines "in an attempt to obtain a metal pipe that could be used to smoke crack cocaine."  "A mechanical inspection and search of Fox’s vehicle showed that the brake lines had been cut," police said. President Buhari receives German chancellor, Angela Merkel,in Aso Rock

President Buhari today August 31st, received the visiting German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.  The German leader, who is concluding her tour of three West African countries, arrived Aso Rock at about 10.02a.m. Both leaders after the usual pleasantries, entered into a closed door meeting to deliberate on issues of mutual interest to both Nigeria and Germany.

High school student displays on first day at school after overdosing on drugs (photo)

A New Jersey high school student put on a display at school after overdosing on drugs and had to be rushed to the hospital. The teenager from Jersey City reportedly took an overdose of the drug K2 and this caused him to lose control of his body. The drug hit as he was climbing the stairs at school and he fell then began acting like one in the throes of convulsion. A teacher at the school is seen in a video trying to help him. He was later taken to the hospital.

3 APC council chairmen die in Saudi Arabia car crash

Today, the Hajj Commission in Zamfara confirmed the death of three local government chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the state in an auto crash in Saudi Arabia.   The Public Relations Officer of the commission, Malam  Yakub-Yahaya Talata-Mafara,  confirmed the death to the News Agency of Nigeria saying the accident occurred around 3.00a.m on Friday, while they were travelling from Makkah to Madina, Saudi Arabia.   According to him, the victims are six local government chairmen of APC from the state. “Three of them died, while three others are receiving treatment at Saudi Arabia Hospital,’’ Talata-Mafara said.   He said that the remains of the deceased were under the custody of the Saudi Arabian authorities where they would be processed for burial. “Hajj officials of the Zamfara contingents are making the necessary documentation to join the Saudi Arabian authorities in order to give the deceased befitting burial,’...
