Ibrahim Shekarau denies defecting to APC, says ''I’m still In PDP''

The former Kano State Governor, Ibrahim Shekarau, has denounced his spokesman over a purported story that linked him with defecting from PDP to APC. This morning, social media was rife with reports that the former governor has defected from PDP to APC. Taking to his twitter handle to deny the claim, Shekarau wrote “I’m still in@officialPDPNig,the#PDPKano consultations is still ongoing. HE Ibrahim Shekarau denied dumping PDP so far” Shekarau's media aide, Sule Ya’u Sule, was quoted by a northern based tabloid to have said that the former governor was defecting. “I want confirm to you that Shekarau has decided to defect from PDP to APC due to the injustice meted on him and his supporters by the PDP leadership. ''Homosexuality is ‘poisoning Nigerian society'' - Primate Nicholas Okoh says

The Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Nicholas Okoh, says homosexuality is “veritably poisoning” the Nigerian society. 'Atiku’s concept of restructuring is understandably vague' - Osinbajo replies his predecessor in an explosive letter

Nigeria's Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo , has replied his predecessor and presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar , who criticised his stance on restructuring. Osinbajo who spoke in the U.S. about restructuring not being Nigeria’s major problem said,  “It is about managing resources properly and providing for the people properly, that is what it is all about”. Kidnappers of Edo APC chairman demands N20m ransom

Kidnappers of the chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State have reportedly demanded a N20 million ransom. Henry Ashofor was kidnapped by last Saturday near Aiyetoro along the Igarra- Ibillo road on his way from Igarra where he had attended a burial ceremony with other politicians. The abductors were said to have called his wife Sunday evening, demanding N20 million which, sources said family members wanted reduced to N600,000. The interview is the first of its kind in Nigeria, being that it is the first time a married gay couple will be interviewed on Nigerian TV. The police in Cross Rivers state have arrested 27-year-old man, Mr Daniel Bassey, and his wife, Magdalene, for trafficking their two-year-old son for N180,000 to an agent in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in July this year. A suspected assassin was apprehended in Ikorodu town in Lagos yesterday September 4th. The assassin was apprehended with a locally made gun found on him. When he was interrogated, he said someone sent him to the town to carry out some attacks but he refused to give the name of the person. He was beaten and thereafter handed over to the police.

Police IG apologises to Edwin Clark over 'unauthorized and Illegal' raid of his house, orders the detention of four officers

Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has apologised to elder statesman, Edwin Clark over the raid of his house on Tuesday. The IG sent a delegation of senior police officers, led by DIG Habila Joshak (DIG DOPs), alongside some commissioners of police to visit the elder statesman and apologize on behalf of the Nigeria Police Force and the IGP. According to a statement by DCP Jimoh Moshood, Acting Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, the apology was for "the misconducts of the said Police personnel and the attendant embarrassment the search has caused on the elder statesman and his family”.
