The world football governing body,  FIFA has increased punishment for racist incidents.  They will be doubling their minimum ban for racist incidents to 10 games and will allow players to make victim statements and participate in the proceedings In a statement released, FIFA said they “will not let down victims of racist abuse,” adding they “may be invited by the respective judicial body to make an oral or written victim impact statement.” “For a first offence, playing a match with a limited number of spectators and a fine of at least 20,000 Swiss francs ($20,000) shall be imposed on the association or club concerned.” Fare network, an organisation which promotes diversity in football across Europe, has welcomed the changes and called on the English FA to implement similar measures. The Obafemi Awolowo Hall of residence (Awo) in the University of Ibadan (UI) was attacked by suspected armed men in the early hours of today Friday July 12th.  According to students of the institution, the armed robbers who were over 10 in number, stormed the hall around 1am and raided for almost two hours. The hall porters were said to have done some inspection in the rooms by 11pm and when the students heard knocks on their doors, they thought the porters had returned and willingly opened the doors to the attackers. At least five students are said to have sustained injuries inflicted on them by the attackers while many gadgets including phones and laptops were carted away. Yesterday, Apostle Johnson Suleman reacted to the protest organized by veteran musicians, Eedris Abdulkareem and Baba Fryo against Pastor Adeboye.  The musicians staged a protest in front of the RCCG camp main gate along Lagos-Ibadan Express way. Men of the Igando Police Station in Lagos state have arrested one Pastor  Pope Paul of No 10/11  Aminu street Ishuti Road Egan Igando for allegedly raping and impregnating a 15-year-old girl. A statement released by Bala Elkana, spokesperson of the state police command, says the mother of the victim lodged a complaint to the police on July 2nd. She alleged that sometime in August 2017,  her daughter (Name withheld) was brought to Lagos to live with the suspect and his wife. She stated further that she discovered was pregnant sometime in June 2018 and that when she interrogated her, she mentioned the name of the suspect as the man responsible for her pregnancy. Bala added that the victim in a statement to the police, said the suspect began having sexual intercourse with her in January 2018 and she soon became pregnant. She stated further that she gave birth to a baby girl sometime in April , 2019. ...

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A Adeboye, has reacted to the recent rape allegations levelled against the Founder of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly COZA, Biodun Fatoyinbo, and a few other men of God. Recall that on June 28th, wife of singer Timi Dakolo, Busola, in an explosive interview, accused Fatoyinbo of raping her when she was 17. He has since denied the allegation and stepped aside as senior pastor of his church following public outcry. The Pentecoastal Fellowship of Nigeria PFN and the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN have both distanced themselves from Fatoyinbo, saying he is not their member. 68-year-old Yisah Showunmi has been arrested by men of the Imota Police station in Lagos state for allegedly raping his 15-year-old daughter and her friends. According to police report, the 15-year-old victim reported a case of defilement at Imota  Police Station against Showunmi on June 27th. The victim alleged that her father has been having sexual intercourse with her for the past three years. She further alleged that when her two friends (Names withheld) ages 15 and 16 came to stay in their house, her father also had sexual intercourse with them forcefully. She added that the last incident happened on June 23rd. A team of police officers stormed the suspects house and he was arrested immediately. He has since confessed to the crime. He is to be charged to court soon.

Ese in 2013 accused Fatoyinbo of trying to manipulate her into having a sexual affair with him while she was a member of his church. In the wake of Busola Dakolo's claim of Fatoyinbo raping her when she was 17, many Nigerians on social media suggested that Ese was also raped by Fatoyinbo. The Nigeria Police Force has reacted to a viral photo of embattled Senator Elisha Abbo purportedly having a conversation with the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu. Abbo. Two persons have been confirmed dead and over 30 vehicles burnt in the pipeline explosion that rocked the Ijegun community in Lagos state in the early hours of today July 4th. Confirming the number of casualties, the Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Femi Oke-Osanyetolu, said suspected vandals destroyed one of the NNPC pipelines in the surburb and were siphoning Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) into a 33,000 litre capacity tanker when they were intercepted by security operatives. “While trying to escape from the security agencies, some of the siphoned fuel spilled into the drainage and the vandals were alleged to have set the spilled fuel on fire in a bid to deter the security agencies from apprehending them.  The fire then spread back to the pipeline, the point where the vandals had siphoned the fuel and exploded with escalating fire which led to two fatalities and over 30 vehicles burnt. The actual loss will ...
