The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has reinstated the immediate past NLC Vice Chairman in Ogun state and the then state Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Oludare Ilekoya and Olusanjo Majekodunmi sacked by Senator Ibikunle Amosun. President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the immediate payment of the national minimum wage to federal civil servants.  Dr. Richard Egbule, the Executive Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC), however, told journalists in Abuja on Tuesday that only federal civil servants who earn less than N30,000 monthly would benefit from the implementation. The Turkish Cypriot police on Thursday, July 11, 2019, arrested 11 friends suspected to have murdered Obasanjo Adeola Owoyale, a student of the Cyprus International University.  Preliminary investigation into the incident, revealed that Obasanjo was dumped in his car's trunk after he was thrown down the third floor of the building that was raided by the police. The police recovered black plastic gloves with stains resembling blood on the floor of the scene, where the deceased was reportedly killed over debt.  Obasanjo was badly brutalized and wounded with a cutting tool, before being thrown down from the third floor of the building as reported by Havadia. At the first sitting of the committee on Monday July 9th, Senator Elisha Abbo clashed with Senator Oluremi Tinubu when he appeared before the Senate ad-hoc committee investigating his assault on a nursing mother inside a sex toy shop in Abuja on May 11th. Upon his arrival at the senate room where he was to be questioned, 41-year-old Abbo refused to swear an oath and also refused to speak in the presence of journalists. President Buhari has commiserated with the leader of Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, on the death of his daughter, Mrs Funke Olakunrin. In a statement by the president's media aide, Femi Adesina, ' the deceased was reportedly shot Friday along the Kajola-Ore road, in Ondo State, by those the police described as armed robbers'. The President prayed that God will comfort Pa Fasoranti, and give him the fortitude to bear the grievous loss. He also directed security agencies to swing into action, and bring the hoodlums to justice in the shortest possible time.

The world football governing body,  FIFA has increased punishment for racist incidents.  They will be doubling their minimum ban for racist incidents to 10 games and will allow players to make victim statements and participate in the proceedings In a statement released, FIFA said they “will not let down victims of racist abuse,” adding they “may be invited by the respective judicial body to make an oral or written victim impact statement.” “For a first offence, playing a match with a limited number of spectators and a fine of at least 20,000 Swiss francs ($20,000) shall be imposed on the association or club concerned.” Fare network, an organisation which promotes diversity in football across Europe, has welcomed the changes and called on the English FA to implement similar measures. The Obafemi Awolowo Hall of residence (Awo) in the University of Ibadan (UI) was attacked by suspected armed men in the early hours of today Friday July 12th.  According to students of the institution, the armed robbers who were over 10 in number, stormed the hall around 1am and raided for almost two hours. The hall porters were said to have done some inspection in the rooms by 11pm and when the students heard knocks on their doors, they thought the porters had returned and willingly opened the doors to the attackers. At least five students are said to have sustained injuries inflicted on them by the attackers while many gadgets including phones and laptops were carted away. Yesterday, Apostle Johnson Suleman reacted to the protest organized by veteran musicians, Eedris Abdulkareem and Baba Fryo against Pastor Adeboye.  The musicians staged a protest in front of the RCCG camp main gate along Lagos-Ibadan Express way. Men of the Igando Police Station in Lagos state have arrested one Pastor  Pope Paul of No 10/11  Aminu street Ishuti Road Egan Igando for allegedly raping and impregnating a 15-year-old girl. A statement released by Bala Elkana, spokesperson of the state police command, says the mother of the victim lodged a complaint to the police on July 2nd. She alleged that sometime in August 2017,  her daughter (Name withheld) was brought to Lagos to live with the suspect and his wife. She stated further that she discovered was pregnant sometime in June 2018 and that when she interrogated her, she mentioned the name of the suspect as the man responsible for her pregnancy. Bala added that the victim in a statement to the police, said the suspect began having sexual intercourse with her in January 2018 and she soon became pregnant. She stated further that she gave birth to a baby girl sometime in April , 2019. ...

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A Adeboye, has reacted to the recent rape allegations levelled against the Founder of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly COZA, Biodun Fatoyinbo, and a few other men of God. Recall that on June 28th, wife of singer Timi Dakolo, Busola, in an explosive interview, accused Fatoyinbo of raping her when she was 17. He has since denied the allegation and stepped aside as senior pastor of his church following public outcry. The Pentecoastal Fellowship of Nigeria PFN and the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN have both distanced themselves from Fatoyinbo, saying he is not their member. 68-year-old Yisah Showunmi has been arrested by men of the Imota Police station in Lagos state for allegedly raping his 15-year-old daughter and her friends. According to police report, the 15-year-old victim reported a case of defilement at Imota  Police Station against Showunmi on June 27th. The victim alleged that her father has been having sexual intercourse with her for the past three years. She further alleged that when her two friends (Names withheld) ages 15 and 16 came to stay in their house, her father also had sexual intercourse with them forcefully. She added that the last incident happened on June 23rd. A team of police officers stormed the suspects house and he was arrested immediately. He has since confessed to the crime. He is to be charged to court soon.

Ese in 2013 accused Fatoyinbo of trying to manipulate her into having a sexual affair with him while she was a member of his church. In the wake of Busola Dakolo's claim of Fatoyinbo raping her when she was 17, many Nigerians on social media suggested that Ese was also raped by Fatoyinbo.
