Just In: Army recovers bodies of 15 soldiers lost in action

- The bodies of 15 missing soldiers have been recovered by the army
- The soldiers went missing while the army engaged the Boko Haram sect in a fierce battle
- A burial of the corpses has held at Maimalari Cantonment Cemetery
The bodies of 15 soldiers earlier declared “Missing in Action” during an operation to dislodge the Boko Haram insurgents from Gashigar Area in Borno on Oct. 16, 2016, have been recovered by the Nigerian army.



The fifteen personnel were part of the 46 officially declared missing more than six weeks ago .
The Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj.- Gen. Lucky Irabor, disclosed this at a weekly review of Operation Rescue Final at Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, on Wednesday, January 11.
Irabor said: “The corpses were recovered along Kamadugou River line area in Maiduguri.
“Among the recovered corpses was that of Lt.-Col. K Yusuf, the former Commanding Officer (CO) of 223 Tank Battalion.
“They have since been buried in Maimalari Cantonment Cemetery with full military honours’’ .

Saraki sends warning to ministers as 2018 Budget passes 2nd reading

Committee Chairmen and Members should please ensure that we keep to this timetable. “Let me respond with a general note of warning to all Heads of MDAs to ensure that they strictly respect the letters of invitation and the timetable. This is not time for excuses for Ministers or Heads of parastatals to be traveling and not be able to attend their budget defense. “We do not have the time.
