Major shake-up in Nigerian Army , 334 top officers redeployed ...

Chief of Army Staff, Major General Tukur Buratai, on Wednesday July 29 approved the postings and appointments of 334 officers of the Nigerian Army with various effective dates. These include some Principal Staff Officers at the Defence and Army Headquarters, Corps Commanders and General Officers Commanding as well as other commanders. The acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, said in an electronic mail on Wednesday that the postings and appointments approved by Buratai, affected 37 Major Generals, 57 Brig. Generals, 128 Colonels, several lieutenant colonels and others. His words: “Some of those affected were the General Officers Commanding 1, 2, 3, 81 and 82 Divisions, Operations Pulo Shield and Safe Haven of Niger Delta and Plateau States. Twenty-two former governors in Nigeria are currently battling to save their heads from the clip of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged embezzlement of funds. Comedian Arole shares how he was nearly killed at an event with Reekado Banks

Comedian Arole has told of his near-death experience and how he got the scar on his face. He said it happened 2 years ago when he went for an event at a university with Reekado Banks. Photo: 68-year-old man allegedly rapes 15-year-old daughter and her friends in Lagos

68-year-old Yisah Showunmi has been arrested by men of the Imota Police station in Lagos state for allegedly raping his 15-year-old daughter and her friends. According to police report, the 15-year-old victim reported a case of defilement at Imota  Police Station against Showunmi on June 27th. The victim alleged that her father has been having sexual intercourse with her for the past three years. She further alleged that when her two friends (Names withheld) ages 15 and 16 came to stay in their house, her father also had sexual intercourse with them forcefully. She added that the last incident happened on June 23rd. A team of police officers stormed the suspects house and he was arrested immediately. He has since confessed to the crime. He is to be charged to court soon.
