Four men have been arrested by officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps at Birnin Kebbi for being in possession of fake one thousand Naira notes, a total of N583,000.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday, March 9, secured the conviction of four counterfeit currency dealers.

The accused men, Usman Ahmed, Isiyaku Mohammed, Mohammed Abubakar and Rilwanu Abdullahi were brought before Justice Simon Amobeda of the Federal High Court Kebbi state on a four count charge of conspiracy and possession of counterfeit currency.

Justice Amobeda sentenced all the accused persons to 5 years imprisonments. The sentence is to begin from the day of the arrest.
