Manchester United star's cousin shot dead

Reports filtering-in from Argentina have it that Geronimo Rojo, a cousin to Manchester United star Marcos Rojo, has been shot dead after trying to rob an ex-police officer.

It was alleged that the 17-year-old was killed alongside an accomplice, a 26-year-old named Ivan Rodrigo Barbosa, who also died in the incident.

The Sun (UK) reports that the duo were said to have targeted 50-year-old Raul Anibal at about 10pm on Sunday night, March 5, from a getaway motorbike outside a bank cash machine.
The tragic incident was said to have occurred in Marcos Rojo’s home town of La Plata, which is just an hour drive from an Argentinian capital Buenos Aires.

Witnesses say the retired police officer identified himself to the criminals before firing shots which killed the robbers.
Barbosa was said to have died on the spot from bullet wounds while young Rojo later passed-on at the hospital following bullet wounds to his shoulder.

EKITI: APC youths allege neglect by Buhari over appointment

Ekiti All Progressives Congress Youth Congress (EAYC) has frowned at President Muhammadu Buhari’s reported appointment of one Olasoji Akodu from the state as the coordinator of his social media team. A report in the social media space had claimed that Akodu had been given the job of the coordinator of the Buhari Media Centre. But the youths in a press release issued in Ado-Ekiti on Saturday, described Buhari’s choice as a stranger in the APC in Ekiti State and wondered how those in charge of Buhari Media Centre would do such a thing without contacting the publicity secretary of the party in the state. 20 year old Nigerian student commits suicide in her hotel room in UK

Omojola Ogundipe, a 20-year-old Bristol University student took her own life in a Cardiff hotel room, just days after a visit home for Mother’s Day. Staff at the Citrus Hotel in Cardiff found her body hanging in her hotel room after she missed her check-out deadline. Late Omojola, described as "bright and bubbly", was in the second year of her economics undergraduate degree at Bristol University, and was a leading member of the Gospel Choir Society. A campaigner on environmental and human rights issues, she volunteered with several groups and was popular among her peers. An inquest into her death heard her dad tell Pontypridd Coroner’s Court his daughter had visited home just three days before they heard the tragic news.
