President Buhari in a closed door meeting with Saraki, Dogara

President Buhari is about now in a closed door
meeting with Senate President Bukola Saraki and
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu
Dogara. The meeting is holding at the presidential
office in Aso Rock Abuja. Senate President this
morning read a letter from President Buhari
notifying the senators of his return to office.

Shiite members, police officers clash in Abuja(photos/videos)

There is currentlly tension in Maitama, Abuja following a clash between members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria aka Shiites and the police. Photos and videos of the shiite members attacking a police van has surfaced online. The Shiite members are demanding the release of their leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky , his wife and other members of their group who have been in military detention since December 2015 following the bloody clash between the group and the military in Kaduna state. The Islamic sect members reportedly got angry when the police tried to stop them from staging a protest atbthe Unity Fountain few days after the security agents granted approval for another Islamic sect, Tajjiniyya, to gather and celebrate their leader, Shehu Ibrahim Inyass Maulud 2018 at Eagle Square over the weekend.
