Nigerian soldier in deep gratitude to God after serving in Maiduguri for 4 years and now returning home alive to his mother and wife (photos)

A Nigerian soldier, John Oden, took to his Facebook page to offer praises to God this morning as he left the hotbed of the Boko Haram war, in Maiduguri, Borno state after staying there for four years and four months.

Oden appreciated God for keeping him alive for his mother and wife that he is now returning home to. Read the emotional post below

When I first entered maiduguri in d early month of 2014, after my first 3 mnt ,I asked myself if I can ever make it back home alive?but when I remembered the thought he had for me where thought of good and not of evil ,I said to myself ,I know that I can make it ,no matter what may come my way my life is in his hands,and one day I asked myself when was I going to set me free from this blood socking land of maiduguri ,God took me to the book of habakku 2 vs 1_3 and truly that appointed has come and he has finally kept to his promises after four years , four month (4yrs 4mnt) truly no one is like my God ,he is my healer, he is my keeper ,my way maker,my life giver ,he picked me from the miry clay and set my feet on the rock to stay,my promoter,my defender ,great God, massive God,only you has the finale say and it only what u say that comes to pass,the all wise God who swallows what swallow an elephant, you are the tiger that appears and put the antelope on a run,who can say it when my God has not said it ?who tell my God what to do? for ever and ever u changeth not ,u have no Comparison, Glorious warrior ,the God who says and dose,even in your silence, you still has the finale say ,my source of confidence,the God that tread on thorns comfortable,you are the wind that cannot be trapped,the wealthiest God,who can say when u are not don talking? 3 APC council chairmen die in Saudi Arabia car crash

Today, the Hajj Commission in Zamfara confirmed the death of three local government chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the state in an auto crash in Saudi Arabia. The Public Relations Officer of the commission, Malam Yakub-Yahaya Talata-Mafara, confirmed the death to the News Agency of Nigeria saying the accident occurred around 3.00a.m on Friday, while they were travelling from Makkah to Madina, Saudi Arabia. According to him, the victims are six local government chairmen of APC from the state. “Three of them died, while three others are receiving treatment at Saudi Arabia Hospital,’’ Talata-Mafara said. Bow Wow has been known to post suicidal messages in the past and he's just done it again. The rapper went on Twitter to post a couple of worrying messages about taking his life. NSCDC arrest 5 suspected rapists In Adamawa State

The Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has confirmed the arrest of five suspects who specialize in luring and raping teenagers in Mubi town in the state. The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Baba confirmed the arrest of the suspects on Monday in Yola saying that the suspects were apprehended following a tip-off that led to the arrest of one of them whose confession and that of their four victims ranging between the ages of 12 and 10 were used to fish out the rest. Baba said medical reports confirmed that the minors had been violated. “We are taking the suspects to court and they will be charged with rape, criminal force and assault on minors,” Baba said. Man hacked to death by cultists following argument during a football match in Ogun state (graphic photos)

A young man was hacked to death by machete-wielding cultists yesterday in Ijebu-Igbo, Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State. The violent incident took place on Sunday evening after an argument broke out during a football match at a Primary School in Oke-Agbo, Ijebu-Igbo. Some young men were playing football on the primary school field when a number of them got into an argument which soon turned violent. The young men fled in different directions but the victim was chased by cultists suspected to be members of Eiye Confraternity and he was hacked to death when they caught up with him. The assailants fled the scene immediately after the attack. See graphic photos below.
