'I'm a small girl with a very big God' - Toke Makinwa shares her grass to grace story and how she started charging 500k to attend events

Media personality, Toke Makinwa has once again declared that she's a 'very small girl with a very big God'.

Even though the phrase has been misconstrued lately to mean something else, Toke went on to say, 'I remember when I first charged half a million to attend an event, Swanky Jerry and I laughed cos we didn’t think the client will pay but they did and now let’s just say it’s been all the way up'.

Grace, amazing grace small girl with a very big GOD

My journey has been from broken to glory, from grass to greener pastures, from weak to strength, from unbelief to countless testimonies , from victim to victor from being the butt of jokes to influence. From broke to smiling to the bank.
I remember when I first charged half a million to attend an event, @swankyjerryand I laughed cos we didn’t think the client will pay but they did and now let’s just say it’s been all the way up I was called “everywhereyougo”, laughed at but somehow we built with every rock thrown at us. Thank you to everyone who’s taking a chance with me. It’s not been easy, but when Jesus says yes, no man can say no. Thank God we don’t look like what we’ve been thru. I remember when I was adviced to withdraw in Uni, I remember when doors constantly closed in my face and I was constantly told this dream was not for me, I will cry to bed asking why me? I just want to be successful, I just want to put my father’s name in the big blue sky above, it’s unfair that he had to die before he truly lived. I just wanted more.
My name is TM, my glow up is real #Believethat. That TM Glow
I’m not where I want to be but I’m on that journey and the God that has brought me from #Misfitttohero is very real. Failure makes you hungry, pain births courage and against all odds, as long as you stay true to your calling, you’ll get there. You have to believe that there is more on the other side of fear. From Banking radio, television, vlogging, and then I authored a book and despite all that cane with It, I have become one of the most influential brands out of Africa and it can only get better.

Share your story, keep telling it till the revolution becomes televised. Cheers to Becoming more and even after you think you’ve become all you are called to be, there’s always room to become some more .

Court orders PDP to pay N180 million to a lawyer for successfully handling their cases

Today, Justice Jude Okeke of the FCT High Court, Maitama ordered the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to pay N180 million to Samuel Okutepa being his professional fee. Okeke who delivered judgment in a suit filed by Okutepa against the PDP, said Okutepa deserved to be paid the money for handling the cases for the party.  “The defendant is directed to pay the claimant N180 million being the earned professional fee for defending and prosecuting their cases listed out in the applicant’s statements of claims.’’ The court also ordered PDP to pay N50,000 to Mr Okutepa, a senior advocate of Nigeria, for successfully handling the cases. The judge held that it was not right for the PDP not to pay for the work they knew was well handled by the plaintiff. He said that the defendant claimed that they did not give him job to do, as no legal agreement was signed by the parties. The judge said that in the records before the court, the applicant wa...

''Shutting down 3 pharmaceutical companies will affect our economy and render thousands jobless'' - Concerned Nigerians group

Read the press statement by Concerned Nigerians below... The Shutdown of three major Pharmaceutical Companies, Emzor, Bioraj and Peace Standard Pharmaceuticals by National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control over Codein production is another testament that the current administration is clueless and wants more Nigerians out of Job. This hasty decision of shutting down all Production lines of these Pharmaceuticals over alleged production of Codein syrup is one done in bad faith. We are concerned about thousands of Jobs and revenue that will be lost as a result of this ill-conceived decision to shutdown the three largest pharmaceutical companies in the Country. You would recall that the National Bureau of Statistics had in its report stated that the number of Nigerians that became unemployed rose under  the current administration from 8,036million in 2015 Fourth quarter to 15.998 million in third quarter of 2017. It will be c...
