Angry traders from Utako market attacked Mr. Dennis, an official of the Federal Capital Development Authority, inflicting him with head injuries at the FCT high court in Abuja today.

The traders got angry after their case with the Municipal Council Area which had initially been scheduled to come up for hearing today was adjourned indefinitely.

They accused the court officials of conniving with the FCDA to stall their case. When saw Mr Dennis, they chased him into the Legal Unit of the court to attack him. It took the intervention of a police officer to stop the angry traders from killing him.

Shop owners at Utako Market have been at the loggerheads with the FCDA over the plan by the Abuja Municipal Council Area ( AMAC) to demolish and revoke their shopping licenses. The traders claimed that already signed after 99 years of the lease agreement with the FCDA.

Saraki sends warning to ministers as 2018 Budget passes 2nd reading
