Governor - Elect, Sanwo Olu Visits Site Of Lagos Building Collapse

The Lagos State governor elect and the deputy governor elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Dr Obafemi Hamzat visited the site and the general hospital where the victims are receiving treatment today. 
This is what Babajide Sanwo-Olu had to say;
"I visited the site of the collapsed building at Itafaji and the general hospital where those affected are receiving treatment. 
The community, rescue workers, health personel and the State government are doing all they can to aid and resolve all issues arising.
As a Father, my thoughts and prayers are with the parents and members of the community, but beyond this, we need to put factors in place to ensure that we avoid such occurences and I will be committed to doing this.

Court orders PDP to pay N180 million to a lawyer for successfully handling their cases

Today, Justice Jude Okeke of the FCT High Court, Maitama ordered the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to pay N180 million to Samuel Okutepa being his professional fee. Okeke who delivered judgment in a suit filed by Okutepa against the PDP, said Okutepa deserved to be paid the money for handling the cases for the party.  “The defendant is directed to pay the claimant N180 million being the earned professional fee for defending and prosecuting their cases listed out in the applicant’s statements of claims.’’ The court also ordered PDP to pay N50,000 to Mr Okutepa, a senior advocate of Nigeria, for successfully handling the cases. The judge held that it was not right for the PDP not to pay for the work they knew was well handled by the plaintiff. Olisa Metuh, a former spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, took to the dock on July 6, 2018 as he continued with his defence in the ongoing N400 million fraud trial before Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja.
