50 Inmates of Ikoyi prison to write 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination

Idris Ibikunle, the Principal of Ikoyi Prisons School says that at least 50 prison inmates will sit for the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME. He said the school has prepared the inmates well for the examination as officials of the facility have stepped up efforts in ensuring an excellent performance. “Right now, we are preparing about 50 of the inmates for the next UTME and by what I see, they are very determined to excel. We are yet to enroll them for the examination proper; we want to give a little more room for others interested so we can do the enrolment once. I am optimistic that we will enroll more than 50 of the inmates for the examination,’’ Ibikunle said. Navy SEAL dies while delivering supplies to the Thai soccer players trapped in cave

A Thai navy diver working as part of the rescue team to rescue 12 Thai soccer players and their football coach trapped in a flooded cave (read here ) has died from a lack of oxygen. Samarn Kunan, a former Thai SEAL, was working in a volunteer capacity and died during an overnight mission in which he was placing oxygen canisters. Thai SEAL commander Arpakorn Yookongkaew said while underwater, the rescuer passed out and efforts to resuscitate the 38-year-old failed. Samarn's body has been sent to Suvarnabhumi airport in Bangkok and will be flown to his hometown in Roi Et for a royally-sponsored funeral, the Thai king announced. Emzor reacts to closure of production site by NAFDAC

Emzor Pharmaceutical Nigeria Limited has reacted to the closure of its production site by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC. According to the pharmaceutical company, NAFDAC has only temporarily sealed one of Emzor’s production sites, the liquid line. The rest of Emzor is still operating as normal.
